Chief Investment Officer

In 2020 TGH’s responsibilities expanded from managing the commercial assets of Waikato-Tainui to now include managing the investment of cash assets held within the four Waikato-Tainui tribal funds.

This role change occurred following TGH’s appointment as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to implement Puna Whakatupu Tangata. 

As CIO, TGH is guided by a SIPO for each fund which specifies the asset classes that TGH can invest in and the proportion of investment across those classes. Under the SIPO TGH must invest the tribal cash assets into global equities.

TGH is also required to operate within a debt level of 35% of equity.
