Tainui Group Holdings (TGH) has recently completed the purchase of an 8,500 sqm commercial building on the corner of Ward and Anglesea Street in central Kirikiriroa-Hamilton. The vendor was NZPS Management Services.
Currently tenanted by The Warehouse, with leases extending until 2030 (and further rights of renewal), the building sits on whenua returned to our iwi as part of the Raupatu settlement in 1995. The whenua is located adjacent to other similar properties managed by TGH on behalf of our iwi.
TGH General Manager of Property Karl Retief commented: “TGH has enjoyed a long and positive relationship with The Warehouse, and we look forward to this continuing for many years to come, including through our mutual interest in the continuing success of this popular CBD location.”
TGH acquired the building when it was offered for sale, as ownership of both the land and building, alongside other nearby holdings will give TGH increased development options once the current lease provisions have run their course and will create opportunities for placemaking in the future.
